Spice up your health


A 'spice' diet can help you control or beat certain types of ailments.

In order to detox, Beyonce goes on a cayenne pepper diet which is definitely not for the faint-hearted. But a new study by Penn State University says that a mix of cinnamon, turmeric, oregano, rosemary, garlic and paprika reduced the insulin levels and triglyceride levels.
Antioxidant activity was higher for people who took this mixture. This showed that these spices have anti-oxidant properties which can lead to better health as it reduces the possibility of chronic disease. Thus doctors advise that you must incorporate spices in your daily food.

In India most of us eat a variety of spices everyday in various forms. But what is important is the quantity of spices we add and the type - eating excessive red pepper may not rerally help us in oru quest for better health!
