How to deal with PMS?

Okay, so it's that dreaded time of the month. While many believe that there is no cure for PMS (Post Menstrual Syndrome), there are things you can do at home, to relieve your stress and irritability. So try the following, and get rid of all your symptoms.

  • It may not seem very comfortable but exercising helps. Regular exercising increases the level of endorphins in the brain. See to it that you exercise for 20-40 minutes, 3-4 times a week.
  • Drink plenty of water, consume fresh fruits and vegetables. Stay away from caffeine, alcohol and refined sugar.
  • Add supplements to your existing diet. For example, calcium supplements help improve negative moods by affecting the hormone-producing endocrine system. You can also have magnesium, vitamin B6 and vitamin E.
  • Indulge in relaxation techniques like yoga, massages and meditation. Watch a funny movie, call up an old friend, listen to soothing music or take a warm bubble bath to reduce your irritability.
