Arif Lohar sings in Ajmer

The Dargah Sharif reverberated with Sufi qawwalis on Tuesday evening, when one of Pakistan's most famous and loved singers, Arif Lohar, paid obeisance there and also sang a few of his compositions.

Lohar, who is touring India with his musical troupe for a series of concerts, reached the Dargah Sharif and sang with the Sufi qawwals present there. Lohar, who was in Delhi to perform at a concert recently, reached Ajmer on Tuesday night with his nine-member team of musicians. "Before flying back to Pakistan, I wanted to visit the shrine. The visit was pending since long," said Lohar, who plans to come back to Ajmer some time soon. Lohar offered floral greetings and Namaz.

And finally, when he was leaving the Dargah, the Sufi qawwals who were singing at the far end of the Dargah caught his attention. He then sat with them, and again sang a few Sufi compositions.
